The terms of this site.

These terms cover the use of the website at mynewskills.com, published by My New Skills in Dunedin, New Zealand. By reading the site or sending the form you agree to them. They are short because the site is simple.

What the site is for

The site describes the practice workbooks we print and gives you a form for requesting a set. It is a description and a mailbox. It is not a shop with a basket, and nothing you do on the site itself creates an order.

A form submission is an enquiry, not a contract

Sending the order form asks us for a quote. It does not commit you to buy and it does not commit us to sell. A sale exists only when you have received our reply by e-mail, with the titles and the cost set out, and have written back to accept it. Until then either side can walk away without a word of explanation.

What the books are, and are not

Every book is a printed book of exercises. We describe its ruling, page count, paper weight and binding, and those descriptions are meant to be accurate. We make no claim about what anyone will be able to do after using a book, and nothing on this site or in any book should be read as such a claim. A workbook is not a course, a lesson, an assessment or a qualification, and no certificate of any kind is issued.

Acceptable use

Use the site to read about the books and to write to us. Do not use the form to send anything unlawful, abusive or unrelated to an order, do not try to interfere with the site or the form service, and do not copy the site's pages to present as your own.

Intellectual property

The text of this site, the design, the exercise orders and the rulings described here, and the books themselves, belong to My New Skills. The photographs on the site come from the sources credited below under the licences named there. You may quote from the site for review or comment with the source named. You may not reproduce a workbook, in whole or in part, for sale or for distribution.

Limitation of liability

The site is offered as it is. We take care that what it says is correct and current, but we do not promise that it is free of errors or that it is available at every moment. To the extent the law allows, My New Skills is not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or from reliance on anything on it. Nothing here limits rights that the law does not permit to be limited, including those that New Zealand consumer law gives a buyer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of New Zealand, and any dispute about them is for the courts of New Zealand.

Changes

We may change these terms by publishing a new version on this page; the date below shows when that last happened. Last updated 28 September 2026.

The photographs on this site are used under the licences named here, with the creator and the source written out in full as text. Copybook and typewriter photographs are archive material released without restriction; the handwriting-practice notebook is used under an attribution licence.
